Eligibility for Deakin University Scholarships

Applicant must satisfy the entire prerequisite below to be eligible for Deakin University Scholarships:

  • Required Language: English.
  • Eligible Countries: All countries in the world.
  • A student should be a domestic or international student enrolled in an HDR course of study at Deakin University to be eligible for an RTP Stipend, RTP Fees Offset, RTP Allowance or DUPRS.
  • A candidate must not be holding an award or scholarship equivalent to the Commonwealth designed to offset HDR fees to be worthy of an RTP Fees Offset.
  • To be worthy of an RTP or DUPRS allowance an individual should not be getting income from another source to aid that scholar’s general living expenses while doing their course of study,  if that income is more than 75 per cent of that scholar’s RTP or DUPRS Stipend rate. Unconnected Income to the scholar’s course of study or income gotten for the student’s course of study but not for the aim of supporting overall costs of living is not to be taken into consideration.
  • Candidates for an RTP or DUPRS Allowance must have concluded no less than four years of tertiary education studies and attained a First Class Honors Degree or equivalent level of academic accomplishment.
  • For Doctoral degree:
  • Conclusion of research project in a connected area as well as a thesis which is equal to at least 25% of a year’s complete-time study at Level 8 or 9 of the Australian Qualifications Framework with accomplishment of a grade for the project equivalent to a Deakin grade of 70% or equivalent.
