Eligibility for Knight Hennesy Scholarship

To be eligible for Knight Hennesy Scholarship, applicants must satisfy the requirements below:

  • Eligible Countries: All countries in the world.
  • First/Bachelor’s degree gotten in 2015 or later; for enrolling in 2022. An applicant is qualified to apply if he/she apply within 4 years and enroll within 5 years, after you earn your first/bachelor’s degree.
  • Applicant must be smart, pursues knowledge, new experiences and full of creative ideas, understand vague situations, and can hold a dissenting point of view.
  • Applicant must complete the entire application process including any standardized test that the graduate degree program necessitates (GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, etc.) and if needed, an English proficiency test.
  • Applicant must be determined, driven to improve self, ready to take risks, self-aware, and persists to bounces back from adversity.
  • Applicants must be proficient in English: listening, reading, speaking, and writing to study at Stanford. The minimum TOEFL score is 100iBT or 600PBT. Make further inquiries about scores here.
  • First, aside from applying to the program, applicant must apply to be enrolled in a full-time Stanford graduate degree program. Every incoming student must be a freshly enrolled student in a Stanford graduate program including, but not limited to, DMA, JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA, MPP, MS, or PhD programs. There are no quotas by discipline or program. Note that priority consideration will be given to those who will use at least two years studying at Stanford.

(2) Complete and submit the online application for admission (together with personal and academic details, etc.). The university will ask for basic biographic and demographic information, with explanations of your activities and interests.

(3)  Ensure you submit the documents below:

  • Unofficial or self-reported transcript of your academic performance in college and, if relevant, graduate school for each institution you attended for an academic year or longer. If you can’t provide an unofficial transcript, download the self-reported transcript template here.
  • A resume that details your intellectual, personal, and professional background and achievements. Our rule is one page for every year of experience after secondary school.
  • Two letters of recommendation. Find details about it here.
  • Essay (maximum total of 1,750 words for both essays combined):
    • How have the influences in your life shaped you?
    • How will you pursue your life’s calling? How will your Stanford education and your Knight-Hennessy Scholars experience to support this?
  • Two short answer responses: Tell us 8 improbable facts about you. List 3 goals/objectives that you are working toward right now (being enrolled to Stanford and/or being selected the scholarships can’t count as one of those goals).
  • Video story: Maximum of two minutes in length. If it 30 seconds to answer, it is fine.
  • In-person assessment.
