Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships at University of Oxford in UK 2022

Established in 2015, the Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme intends to afford scholars and professionals from third-world and emerging economies the chance to pursue fully-funded graduate programs at Oxford, together with long-term mentoring and networking, and also a wide-ranging program of leadership development.

The Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme was created in 2015 owing to generous contributions from various donors to celebrate the 95th birthday of Lord Weidenfeld. In June 2017, Chairman André Hoffmann promised an extra contribution of £9m to the Trust which, because of matched funding of £6m from Oxford University, will expand the size of the Oxford- Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme.

This scholarship award is part of the Oxford Graduate Scholarship awards, which were created through a pioneering new matched funding enterprise to allow the establishment of fully-funded scholarship awards for graduate students of the highest quality from all over the world. The University donates 40% of the funds for these scholarship awards, along with 60% from generous contributions donated by supporters of the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust, like Fondation Hoffmann. Fondation Hoffmann is a Swiss-based grant-making institution backing the development and enlargement of concrete projects which tackle global issues in today’s societies.
